The road to Cricket World Cup 2023 is clear for every team as the newly introduced Super League give every team an equal opportunity to fight for an automatic spot at the finals.
Zimbabwe is currently bottom of the log with 10 points gained from the super over victory in Pakistan last November.
Zimbabwe is kick-starting its 3rd Super League series against Ireland today with 30 Super League points at stake.
Ireland is currently 8th with 35 points however they have played 12 games whilst Zimbabwe has played only 6 games.
Zimbabwe lost the last series against Bangladesh at home as they missed senior players due to injuries and covid related issues.
Zimbabwe toured Ireland with its full strength squad, although Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams and Sikander Raza didn’t get to play the T20i which saw a young Zimbabwean Team lose 2 – 3 to Ireland.
The seniors returned for the Warm Up and it is highly likely that Rajput will unleash his strongest 11 to try and gain the much needed Super League points on offer.
